If you find yourself needing a break when you have too many things on your mind, I have the perfect solution: the Internet.

Example of traffic.

This week I’m doing something I haven’t done for over a year: going to the office.

The recent pandemic made something that I had already done for some time fashionable: working from home. Fortunately for me, I’ve been in teams that believe in teleworking or home office as a method of existence. Now I’m in a company that gives three months of working from home in exchange for a full week in person. Not bad.

I have to say that I like seeing the team I work with in person (at least, those I work with in Mexico, because I have colleagues in Brazil and Colombia too). Being able to do face-to-face dynamics is another advantage.

The disadvantages? Well, since I’ve been a cockroach for almost ten years — a term I use to explain the process in which the body blends with smog, overpopulation, endless haste and the desire to survive at all costs like a cockroach — I’m spoiled by long commutes to work in traffic. On a day without people, going to the office would take me 16 minutes by car.

Yesterday it took me an hour and a half.

I do the same on public transport.

After all, I live in a Latin American capital with 9 million people, plus 2.3 million more who come to work from nearby places every day. My dad says I’m crazy for wanting to continue living here.

The trick is to see the positive side of the issue. Yesterday I was finally able to listen to the podcasts I like in one go! Today I will surely catch up on everything that happened with the debate between Harris and Trump in the United States.

Well, you can imagine then that I don’t have much mental strength these days when I’ve had to modify my routine to escape early.

So, I’m going to leave you with two recommendations so that you can take a break from what you’re doing and see how fun the internet is:

Have you ever philosophized with your friends to find out if the blue you see is the same as the one others see? Well, this page will help you settle the question: you just have to tell them if you see more green or blue and at the end there is a comparison with other people who have taken the test.

And now, a little creativity test. Did you play rock, paper or scissors? With that concept you have to see what beats rock. Paper!, you might say. Okay, what beats scissors? Well, rock! Here comes the fun part: you can’t use things that have already been released to beat your object. Since you can’t use rock anymore… what would you use to beat scissors? I’m telling you that I said “hammer.” And what can beat the hammer…? The goal of this mini game is to get as far as you can. You can plug your brain in a little differently at this link.

I hope you have fun today! I already have to board my blue ship to get to the terrible land (when there is traffic) of Polanco. See you on Wednesday with the complete edition of Write Me Soon!
